Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The food consistently impresses with its quality and flavor. Diners rave about the Sunday lunches, especially the tender beef and generous portions of gravy. The beer selection is noteworthy too; guests appreciate the curated list of local brews. The attentive and friendly staff enhances the overall experience, creating a welcoming environment that makes diners feel at home. Families enjoy the kid-friendly offerings and dog-friendly policy, allowing them to bring their four-legged friends along. Furthermore, the cozy atmosphere adds a touch of warmth, perfect for unwinding after a long day.

Most Disliked

A few guests have mentioned that the indoor temperature can be on the colder side, which affects comfort while dining. Although many appreciate the space, some feel that it could feel crowded during peak times, particularly on Fridays. The layout may pose challenges for large groups, as it can limit movement during busy hours. Minor complaints also arise around the occasional wait for food during the restaurant's busiest periods. However, the quality of the food tends to overshadow these small inconveniences for most diners.

It was my first time visiting The Ponthir Inn, and I was pleasantly surprised! The food was absolutely beautiful, I had the lamb, which was so tender, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. The carrots were lovely and sweet, and you could really tell that everything was prepared with care. I’ll definitely be coming back for a Sunday dinner! The staff were amazing very welcoming, attentive, and made me feel completely comfortable. The only small downside was that it felt a bit cold inside but overall it was a Lovely meal, great atmosphere and i will be coming again.

Went here for the first time last Tuesday. The food, service and staff were fabulous. Sarah, our waitress was really attentive and friendly. My mother in law is a wheelchair user and her needs were well catered for. We were so impressed we’re going back for Sunday lunch today. Thank you xx

Sat outside in sunshine for lunchtime fish and chips. Excellent, friendly, attentive service. Lightest, crispiest batter on skinless fish was the best for a very long time. Spotless toilets too!

Stopped off on a whim for a Saturday lunch and was not disappointed. We both chose the pasta dish and it was excellent. Service was very good and prices very reasonable. Will definitely be going again.
